I was at the first round of the Promo Racing Speed Challenge County Championship powered by WRT-Parts & TELL Security Systems and supported by Auto Chelu and Dinamic 92.
Promo Speed Challenge powered by WRT Parts & TELL Security Systems, supported by Dinamic 92 and Auto Chelu was organized by Club Sportiv Auto Blic.
When? Sunday, August 8, on Timisul Sec Street in Brasov.
The event for amateurs was placed under the aegis of the Romanian Federation of Sports Car Racing. Organized with the support of Brasov City Hall and Local Council, IPJ Brasov – Traffic Police Office, ISU Brasov and Mobile Gendarmerie Brigade Brasov.
This year, the circuit speed competition brought the well-known driver Gabi Onofrei to the public’s attention.
Under the slogan “Defensive on the road! Offensive on the track”, the competition aimed to eliminate dangerous racing on the road.
Amateurs of sport sofat were able to enter a well-organized competition, where the show on wheels is appreciated, without compromising on discipline and rigor.
More than 60 competitors lined up at the start of the first stage. After successive qualifying heats, the best drivers qualified for the elimination heats.
Winners by category:
Category 1: the only female presence in category 1 – Izabella Gavrila – won the Citroën C2 VTS.
In second place was Bogdan Tudor Blaga in his Honda Civic Coupe, and the podium was completed by Raul Florin Moise in his BMW E36 Compact.
Category 2: 1st place was taken by Jeno Pora driving a Honda CRX, Mihai Stan in a Honda Civic Type-R came second.
Third place went to Mircea Hategan, driving the Fiat Punto.
Category 3: Madalin Dicu at the wheel of a BMW E36 won first place, followed by Mihai Naparus (BMW E30) and Dragos Coman in 3rd place, driver of a BMW E46.
Category 4: Alexandru Negut (Volkswagen Golf 6 GTI) – 1st place, Remus Gal (BMW F30) – 2nd place, Dragos Carpen (Seat Leon Cupra) – 3rd place.
Category 5: podium occupied by only two drivers – Tudor Marin with BMW E30 and Robert Orzan in second place, driving a BMW E46 Compact.
Category 6: Ovidiu Maftei in Audi RS3 – 1st place, Gábor Tamás (Audi Quattro 2.0 Turbo), 2nd place, Ovidiu Roman in Subaru Impreza WRX GC8 – 3rd place.
7th category: Florin Durche representing Auto Chelu (Nissan GT-R R35) – 1st place, Zoltán Vargyasi from WRT-Parts (Audi S3) – 2nd place, Alexandru Bumbaru (BMW M140 Xi) – 3rd place.
BMW domination
Category 8: out of more than 20 competitors entered, the fastest was Claudiu Nan (BMW E90).
Danut Preda took 2nd place in the Volkswagen Golf 4 and Gabriel Dinu in the Škoda Octavia 2 came third.
9th category: Ionut Bucur (Volkswagen Golf 6 GTD – first place, Radu Costache, with the BMW 335D – 2nd place.
Category 10: Octavian Ginju (BMW 435 Xd Coupe) – 1st place, Andrei Iancu (BMW 435) – 2nd place, Fernando Pantic (BMW 330) – 3rd place.
The first round of the Promo Speed Challenge powered by WRT-Parts & TELL Security Systems was dominated by Bavarian models, with 3 exclusive BMW podiums!
The second round of the Promo Speed Challenge Championship powered by WRT-Parts & TELL Security Systems is scheduled for 29 August this year.
